Competitor briefing

Attentive and Klaviyo are trying to own the moment before the first reply.

Attentive is getting smarter about who enters the list. Klaviyo is getting smarter about converting rented social attention into owned contacts. That means the pre-conversation layer is getting crowded fast. TailoredTexting should stop pretending it wins there and build the cleanest handoff from opt-in signal to objection-clearing reply.

What happened

Attentive says AI Grow predicts the right moment to surface sign-up units so brands capture more high-quality subscribers. Klaviyo says Social Marketing turns Instagram comments and DMs into consented email and phone captures that flow straight into the CRM. Different surfaces, same strategic move: the incumbents are trying to decide which shoppers even get to become messaging opportunities.

Why it matters

Once Attentive, Klaviyo, and eventually Postscript own more of acquisition quality, Tailored loses if it sells vague “AI texting.” The value shifts downstream. Merchants will assume the big platforms decide timing, channel, audience, and list growth. What they still do badly is the messy middle after a buyer replies with hesitation, confusion, timing objections, or discount fishing. That is where revenue still leaks.

Competitor dynamics

Attentive is optimizing the top of funnel with browse-timed capture. Klaviyo is connecting social engagement to owned customer profiles. Postscript is already teaching the market to expect 1:1 SMS assistance. Put those together and the category gets brutal for any product that cannot name its exact moment of superiority. Tailored should not fight for “better automation.” It should fight for “better conversion after intent is already visible.”

How TailoredTexting should implement this

Bottom line

Attentive and Klaviyo are tightening their grip on who enters the funnel. Fine. TailoredTexting should own what happens right after that: turn high-intent replies into orders with a handoff system the bigger platforms still do not execute well.
